| Name: | Sir Sword Knight |
|---|
Character: His full title is Sir Sword Knight, and he prefers to be called Sword--if he was forced to admit it, though, his given name is Snickersnack. (He doesn't have a real name in the series--I pulled it from the "Jabberwocky" poem so he'd have one.)
Series: Cartoon series "Kirby: Right Back at Ya!" as a supporting character, and the series of "Kirby" Nintendo games as an enemy drone.
Version: Cartoon version.
Age: 20 (It's never mentioned in the cartoon; the guess is from: http://www.absoluteanime.com/kirby/sword_knight.htm )
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Straight, with no beastiality, (or would it be called no humanity?) though he doesn't mind the thought of more similar inter-species pairs. Ideally, he'd stick in a monogamous relationship with a nice Dreamlander girl, possibly of his own species, (whatever that is) and raise a family.
Appearance: Sword generally keeps his armor on at all times, for modesty's sake. It's not a very heavy set, but it does cover everything except his hands, which are covered in a pair of pale grey gauntlets. The armor itself is a gleaming blue-green with a copper-toned breastplate, with large belled sleeves to make him look bulkier, a ridged back, and an inverted V visorless gap for him to see out of. His sword is a foot long and thus as tall as he is, or about the size of a large butcher knife, gold-toned and unadorned, with a broad double-edged blade that tapers to a piercing point. Sword also has an inexplicable English accent, which only serves to make him seem even more the knight he is.
(This part, now, is working entirely from scratch; Sword has never been shown without his armor.)
Beneath all that metal lurks an adorable, furry creature that looks like he should be part of the wildlife that Paixao lacks. Sword's height is 1' even, not counting his ears, which resemble nothing so much as those of a rabbit. His feet too are remarkably hare-like, long and wide, attached to powerful short legs that give him a good physique for jumping and running, though his tail is only tiny stub, not unlike that of a guinea pig. He has retractable claws and sharp teeth, and his forepaws are surprisingly human--they're essentially four-fingered hands, fully articulated and his most human trait, aside from standing upright. He's a bit of a chubby little thing, despite weighing only about 5 pounds, and has downy medium length fur, the main coat color being a sandy beige that shades into cream for his underbelly, and into a warmer golden color for a fairly long mane of hair. He has big, warm, chocolate-brown eyes, that are difficult to see even through the gap in his helmet unless one was at eye-level with light shining in.
Personality: Sword is polite and friendly in general to those he doesn't know, and in turn expects a certain amount of respect, both as a person and for his role as a royal Meta-Knight. He's loyal and honorable to a fault with his friends, and fairly affectionate when he gets to know someone well--once he does, he trusts them absolutely, and wouldn't hesitate to risk his life for them. Trusting though he can be, in general he's a rather tightly-strung individual, and easily gets annoyed or spooked; grudges can usually be gotten over fairly quickly, if the offender apologizes or he's shown to be wrong, but being frightened tends to stick with him for a long while, making him nervous and wary for a long while around someone who initially made him uncomfortable. One thing that consistently annoys him in this new world is the sheer size of things; even navigating a flight of stairs is an effort, and unless he can find some way to go around or climb on top of it, seeing over a counter is impossible. That, and the lack of respect he's given for his size; people are nice enough, but he's used to being treated as an equal, not being patronized.
Abilities/Weaponry: Sword has no special abilities to speak of, save the training in fighting--especially against larger creatures--given to him by his superior, Sir Meta Knight. He wears a full suit of armor and carries a short sword, both suited to his diminutive size--these are pretty much his only possessions, to date. Small as he is, he's a remarkably good climber and jumper, and moves surprisingly fast.
Weaknesses: His size is his most prominent weakness--most things are larger than he is, and that leaves him vulnerable, even with his armor. Besides that, his armor has to be proprotionally lighter to not bog him down, and his sword isn't much larger than a good steak knife. How can most people be threatened by that, or even take him very seriously? His own cuteness embarasses him; he would be terribly out of sorts if anyone were to steal his armor or even helmet and sword, since it would show what he looks like and make it difficult for him to get any respect. Sword also has a terrible phobia of wolves, owing to the way they nearly killed him--running into them is an exercise of flight-or-fight at its most primitive, and more often than not sends him scrambling for safety regardless of the circumstances.
History: Sword, for the better part of his life, was a normal citizen of Dreamland, living in a large, loving family; it was naturally presumed that he would grow up, start a nice family of his own nearby, and work in the family's restaurant business. He was a good child, with typical relationships with his siblings and close to his parents, and had no aspirations of doing much of anything beyond the boundaries of his family's expectations. It was a comfortable, happy life--why change that?
(Everything before that was made-up; here we get to what little canon history he actually has.)
One day, while he was out with his best friend, who would eventually become Blade Knight, his home was attacked by Nightmare Enterprise's army of monsters. The two of them were spared from the devastation by being gone, and fled the area in fear that they might be the next ones slated for destruction. The refugees became bandits to support themselves while they searched for an adequate home. They were in the midst of an unsuccessful attempt to rob Meta Knight, their future commander, when a Wolfwrath attacked, nearly slaughtering them both. Their intended victim turned into their savior--the pair swore loyalty to Meta Knight out of gratitude, and were trained as his knightly subordinates, accompanying him in his quest to find Star Warriors to defeat Nightmare Enterprise.
